Educational Opportunities for Girls in Ethiopia

Your generous support allows us to keep vulnerable girls in Ethiopia in school, despite
global reductions in funding. This quarter, we focused on getting 15 girls and young
women back into the classrooms after summer break and ensuring that they have all
the tools to thrive. This preparation ensures that all our scholars begin the new term on
equal footing, ready to focus on their studies, build healthy relationships, and thrive.
As summer neared its end, your donations were put to work to provide each student
with new textbooks, notebooks, calculators, backpacks, and a fresh uniform and shoes.

This year, the young women in our university program received laptop computers.
In addition to material support, our local mentor provided individual and group
preparation and encouragement leading up to the start of the school year. This
mentorship focuses on setting academic goals and addressing any anxieties. The girls
became excited about the school, and walked into the classroom with their friends!

As we look ahead to the next quarter, we’re looking forward to our annual holiday party
at the local school. It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together, share a
meal, and celebrate the girls’ success!
