Educational Opportunities for Girls in Ethiopia

The spirit of resilience and ambition is thriving within our community in Addis Ababa. We are thrilled to share that one of our long-term scholars, Tsehai, is just six weeks away from her university graduation! This milestone represents years of dedication, and we couldn't be more proud of her hard work.

Your generosity makes this possible. We are covering her full graduation expenses and will maintain her modest monthly stipend until she secures her first job. This safety net allows her to focus entirely on her transition from student to professional without the immediate pressure of financial instability. In a landscape where global aid cuts often force difficult trade-offs, your support ensures that young women like Tsehai don't just survive—they excel.

Tsehai’s journey highlights the direct impact of your choice to invest in girls' education. By providing this continuum of care through university, we are seeing our scholars unearth their own strategies to navigate challenges and develop as individuals in their own right. Her success is a shared victory, proving that when we stand up for girls, we build a better world together. Thank you for staying steadfast in your commitment to our students.

Your generous support allows us to keep vulnerable girls in Ethiopia in school, despite
global reductions in funding. This quarter, we focused on getting 15 girls and young
women back into the classrooms after summer break and ensuring that they have all
the tools to thrive. This preparation ensures that all our scholars begin the new term on
equal footing, ready to focus on their studies, build healthy relationships, and thrive.
As summer neared its end, your donations were put to work to provide each student
with new textbooks, notebooks, calculators, backpacks, and a fresh uniform and shoes.

This year, the young women in our university program received laptop computers.
In addition to material support, our local mentor provided individual and group
preparation and encouragement leading up to the start of the school year. This
mentorship focuses on setting academic goals and addressing any anxieties. The girls
became excited about the school, and walked into the classroom with their friends!

As we look ahead to the next quarter, we’re looking forward to our annual holiday party
at the local school. It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together, share a
meal, and celebrate the girls’ success!

Thank you once again for your trust in Enhance Worldwide. Your belief in education
ensures that these girls and young women begin their school year prepared, confident,
and ready to learn, making a difference in their lives right from the first day.
