It is well known that the various infectious diseases spread fast among pupils in schools, especially when the school environment is one lacking in knowledge of public health, individual health, and clean living.
In fact, it is not surprising that the mumps are going around in primary schools in Salahuddin Province. Mumps are easily communicable amongst children and most of the students become infected.
JEN is implementing a project to raise awareness of health and a hygienic environment by providing training to teachers and textbooks for pupils. Mumps is the topic included both in the training and the textbook.
We hope our new project will help more school pupils learn about the importance of hygiene.
