Our first full year of our Early Childhood Development programme is underway and we have expanded to 20 kids this year, with hopes of adding another 40 once the new building is complete.
The ECD teacher, Nokuthula, has recently been completing more training to develop her skills as an ECD educator and we have hired another teacher to support her as well.
The kids enjoy dancing, singing and playing as they learn. In term 1 they have been learning about staying safe from strangers and the numbers and letters.
We have been busy with developing plans for our new ECD centre - deciding on layout, look and feel of the space. Thanks to your contributions we have been able to purchase great new games, posters and puzzles to make it truly an engaging and fun learning space for these children.
A few children from the ECD programme last year have moved into the Grade R group this year and are fitting in well with the rest of their peers having had that extra learning time last year.
