Mariem first steps toward a brighter future

By Nour Elmasry | Digital Marketing Specialist

Dear Alhassan donors, supporters, and believers,

Thank you for donating to Egyptian Kids on Wheels project. Your donations play a major role in changing kids’ lives. Helping kids developing a positive and healthy attitude towards their physical challenge is the first step towards success and self-realization.

“Every child has the right to have a happy childhood.”

It may sound like a simple sentence, but for us, it is a belief we carry in our hearts and strive to fulfill every single day.

For most children, the first day of nursery is filled with excitement, curiosity, and endless dreams. For a child living with a physical disability, that same day can also bring uncertainty and challenges. At Alhassan Foundation, we believe that no child should miss out on the simple joys of childhood because of mobility barriers.

Mariem Khaled is a beautiful three-year-old girl whose smile has the power to brighten every room she enters. Although she was born with Spina Bifida, Mariem has never let her condition define her. Like every child her age, she loves to play, discover new things, and be surrounded by other children.

This year marks a very special milestone in Mariem's life as she prepares to begin nursery for the very first time. It is the start of a new chapter filled with learning, friendships, laughter, and unforgettable childhood memories.

To help her begin this journey with confidence, Alhassan Foundation provided Mariem with a customized wheelchair specially designed to meet her needs and support her growth. More than just a mobility aid, the wheelchair is giving Mariem the freedom to move independently, explore her surroundings, participate in classroom activities, and enjoy every moment alongside her friends.

For Mariem, this wheelchair is opening doors that once seemed difficult to reach. It allows her to move safely, develop her independence, and build the confidence every child deserves. It also brings peace of mind to her family, knowing that their daughter can begin her educational journey with greater comfort and dignity.

At only three years old, Mariem's story is just beginning. Every classroom she enters, every game she joins, and every new friendship she builds reminds us that inclusion starts from the very first steps of childhood.

Today, Mariem dreams like any other little girl. She dreams of learning, playing, making friends, and discovering the world around her. With the love of her family and the continued support of Alhassan Foundation, she is taking her first steps toward a future full of opportunities, independence, and hope.

Because every child deserves more than access—they deserve the freedom to move, the chance to belong, and the opportunity to build a future without limits.

We want to thank every donor or supporter who helps us to achieve this success and we urge you to continue supporting us.  our hope, Please subscribe to the monthly donation option, which helps us secure more funds to help more wheelchairs users to achieve their dreams.
