We would like to express our gratitude to the GlobalGiving Community for your generous support, and we eagerly anticipate continuing our partnership.
We are happy to report that 2023 proved to be exhilarating and empowering for us. We witnessed a significant increase in our trainee numbers, reaching a current nationwide total of 600. Our collaborations with local authorities expanded, and we took proactive steps in schools as part of the national Gefen program. Additionally, we implemented an efficient CRM system, introduced the inaugural 'Eitan' method course in collaboration with the Wingate Sports Institute, trained numerous coaches, and orchestrated a variety of thrilling events and races, including the annual Eitan run that drew over 3,000 participants! We are now working towards our fifth annual run.
Unfortunately, since October 7th, much like the rest of Israel, our activities experienced a slowdown and suspension in specific regions in the country, specifically the north and south. Many coaches were also called up for reserve duty. Nevertheless, we remained resolute in our focus on goals and continued to move forward.
The wartime conditions presented challenges for every individual in the country, giving rise to tension, worry, fear, anxiety, and daily stress. These emotions are heightened for individuals with special needs, who navigate the harsh reality with heightened sensitivity. Often grappling with communication and expression challenges, they endure emotionally charged moments and require unique, empathetic support.
To address this, we initiated a system of personalized fitness training for individuals with special needs and their families in all temporary evacuation centers. This initiative has demonstrated efficacy in helping overcome immediate challenges, significantly contributing to enhanced capabilities and self-confidence, the development of personal resilience, and the fortification of inner strength for everyone, particularly those with special needs.
As we look towards 2024, we plan to expand the number of group trainees, increase the percentage of regional managerial roles instead of introducing new managers, bring in substantial reinforcement for the board of directors, develop resources for our annual run and establish a sufficient response for the needs of the periphery. We also plan to establish the 'Eitan Home' - a space fostering inclusive sports activities for individuals with and without disabilities under the association's auspices.
Thanks to the generous support from The GlobalGiving Community, Eitan-Everybody Can! has been able to enhance its model, benefiting people with cognitive disabilities across Israel.
