Helping families
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative supporting the needs of poor families affected by the El Nino. Climate change is real and we do not know what the future holds. However we try our best to be of assistance during this time and focus on mitigating climate change impacts on our work. This time we focus our attention to providing food for children and farming inputs for their parents. We were able to assist a total of 34 families using this mode this reporting period.
Hoping for your continuing support. Thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our initiative helping those affected by severe climate disturbance. The El Nino phenomenon is here to stay and farming is becoming more difficult with unsure climatic situation. The risk is just too high and our approach is to provide farmers with simple yet sure techniques in small-scale farming so that they can access food in a cheap, easy and efficient manner. The need to provide for well-balanced nutrition is imperative especially among the children and we can do this via vegetable production. This reporting period we provided 2 villages with pilot ideas which they can emulate in their own farms. We also provided them with vegetable seeds so that they are able to grow their own crops. Hoping for success in this approach so that we can reach-out to more beneficiaries. Again, thank you so much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre

Tree promotion in upland villages
Dear Friend,
Greetings from WAND and thank you very much for your support to our initiative water, sanitation and hygiene initiative for upland villages. For this project we are helping 3 pilot villages and we are providing local villagers with access to water, sanitation and hygiene. Our support to improving water access is via tree growing and the protection of watershed areas which when destroyed would mean misery to upland as well as lowland population. This reporting period, we focus our support to the provision of fruit and timber tree seedlings to interested growers. We inform them that the growing of trees will improve the situation of upland areas and will prevent soil erosion. Hoping for your continuing support to this initiative. Thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre
