Challenge

During these impossibly difficult times, we are launching an emergency appeal to support Bedouin communities in the South, which have been decimated by rocket fire and forgotten by the wider Israeli public. These communities lack nearly any infrastructure or government support to provide help, and while mobile bomb shelters have been delivered to other cities and towns in Israel, Bedouin villages have been left out.

Solution

At Sadaka Reut, we have been working with Bedouin students in the Negev for several years, and we are currently working with locals to open several emergency support groups that will give psychological support geared towards strengthening resilience in the face of extreme trauma. We are opening a group for mothers, a group for recent high school graduates, and a group for middle schoolers, and are looking to open support groups for our hundreds of alumni in the Negev.

Long-Term Impact

Once this crisis is over, there will still be a long road to recovery for communities all over the region. We hope to continue providing Bedouin communities with services that meet their shifting needs as our reality continues to constantly shift and change.
