Dear AfD friend,
The new wave of conflict- which overpassed the 40 years- caused loss of 800,000 jobs in Afghanistan. It forced over 700,000 people from their homes in 2021, and over a million who flee the country. Post covid-19 shock, ongoing drought, economic crisis and natural disasters (floods and earthquakes) have further shattered the already impoverished communities. The constant insecurity, targeted killings, attacks on education still devastate the population.
Today we are writing this report not only to share with you the status of the country but also to ask you to further support the people of Afghanistan to survive this emergency.
Many families lack sturdy shelters, basic food items, cash assistance to buy food and medicine. Unemployment and chaos alongside with the difficulties imposed by the regime creates further food insecurity and preventable illness from the cold weather. Although AfD has been assisting around 500 families each year with food and winterisation material, this year we were not able to raise necessary amount to provide further support. We are looking forward to your support in helping us address the dire need of the people of Afghanistan, in particular women headed families.
Your support is urgently needed.
Your donation can provide people inside Afghanistan with life-saving aid, as well as other emergency support during this winter season.
