Project Report | Mar 25, 2026
From emergency to steady recovery

By Fujii Keisuke | Project Coordinator

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support for our relief efforts in Myanmar.

It has been nearly one year since the devastating earthquake struck central Myanmar in March 2025.We owe it to your generous contributions that we our activities are transitioning from emergency response to recovery support. However, many challenges still remain, particularly in rural communities. Agricultural infrastructure was severely damaged by the earthquake, and rising prices have further affected the daily lives of local residents. As a result, many families continue to face significant hardship.

In response to these ongoing needs, we implemented several livelihood recovery activities between December 2025 and March 2026. One of our key initiatives was the distribution of rice seeds cultivated at our training center to affected farmers. Through this support, farmers have been able to resume rice cultivation, taking an important step toward restoring their food production and income.

In addition, we provided partial agricultural materials and conducted practical training sessions to support farmers in rebuilding their livelihoods. These trainings introduced methods such as utilizing locally available organic materials, enabling farmers to continue agricultural production with fewer external inputs. Many participants expressed their appreciation, sharing that they have regained confidence in continuing their farming activities.

While these efforts have helped communities move forward, recovery in the earthquake-affected areas is still ongoing. There remains a strong need for continued support, particularly in rebuilding livelihoods and strengthening community resilience. We remain committed to working closely with our local teams and communities to ensure that your generous support continues to reach those in need. We will continue our efforts in livelihood recovery, as well as in education and basic infrastructure support.

Once again, we sincerely thank you for your continued generosity and warm support.
