This report will elaborate on the progress made for the months of July to September. There were several initiatives that were undertaken during these three months, they include:
Over 2335 meals between July and September. A total number of 684 children have benefited from this onsite feeding project, whereby 378 are boys and 306 are girls. During the one-week school holiday break, we didn’t manage to prepare meals for the children due to limited funding. In August, the board members and friends who support programs managed to visit and share a meal with our community children.
2. Dry Family Relief Food.
During this period, we managed to provide dry family food to 35 families. The dry foods distributed were rice, maize flour and nutritious porridge flour. These food packages were given to vulnerable families to ease the hunger problems they were facing
3. PRE-LACT activities.
This is a group made up of pregnant and lactating women. The aim is to provide maternal nutritional education to these women. So far the response has been very positive. We have been able to identify cases and address them accordingly. For example, we picked one case of a teenage mother of two children, one child is two years old while the other one is 6 months old. She was enrolled into the program while also being provided with porridge support to feed her two children.
