The Emergency Family Relief Food and Nutrition Support project, implemented by The Ngao Foundation, aims to provide nutritious meals to vulnerable children and families in the Kangemi community, addressing the immediate food needs of the beneficiaries. The project is aligned with the foundation's commitment to enhancing the well-being of children and creating a safe space for them.
Project Highlights
Increased Participation
Over the last few months, the project witnessed a surge in children turning up for meals.
During the extended school holiday, which spanned more than two months, the Ngao Foundation served as a haven for children, providing both sustenance and a nurturing environment.
Daily Nutritious Meals
More than 4560 children received nutritious meals, ensuring they had access to balanced and healthy nutrition.
The project played a crucial role in alleviating food insecurity for vulnerable families in the Kangemi community.
Safe and Inclusive Space
The Ngao Foundation not only addressed hunger but also provided a safe and inclusive space for children to play and socialize.
The foundation's commitment to creating an environment where children can be children was evident, contributing to the overall well-being of the community's youth.
Gratitude to Donors
The Ngao Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed donors who have consistently supported the project.
Donors' contributions have been instrumental in sustaining the foundation's efforts to provide for vulnerable children and families in Kangemi.
Impact Amid Challenges
The Kangemi community faced increased economic challenges due to new government taxation policies.
Despite these challenges, sustained support from donors ensured that children in need received at least one meal, providing a lifeline to affected families.
Future Plans
The Ngao Foundation remains committed to expanding the impact of the Emergency Family Relief Food and Nutrition Support project. Plans include:
As we continue our mission to address the immediate food needs of the community, we face a new challenge that requires your urgent attention. The number of children seeking refuge and sustenance at the Ngao Foundation has grown significantly. While this is a testament to the impact of our project, it has posed a challenge due to limited space.
Currently, we are operating within confined quarters, and the increasing number of children requires us to secure a larger, more accommodating space. Unfortunately, our efforts to negotiate with the eight landlords overseeing our current premises have not yielded favorable results.
Our Immediate Need: Safe Space Expansion
To ensure the safety, well-being, and dignity of the children we serve, we urgently need to secure additional space that aligns with our commitment to providing a nurturing environment. This new space will not only accommodate the growing number of children but will also allow us to create an inclusive and secure haven for all.
Your Support Matters
We understand the challenges that families and communities are facing globally, and your continued support has been a beacon of hope for those we serve. Your generosity has transformed lives, and we appeal to your compassionate spirit to help us navigate this critical juncture.
