Introduction
The Emergency Family Relief Food and Nutritional Support Project, implemented by The Ngao Foundation, aims to provide essential food and nutritional support to vulnerable families, particularly children, in the community. This report highlights the activities and achievements of the project during the last quarter.
Food Distribution
During the last quarter, the project successfully served food to over 6000 children. With schools on holiday break throughout the month of April, children accessed the Ngao Foundation Centre daily. While waiting for food to be cooked and served, various educational activities were organized to enhance their overall well-being.
Nutritional Education and Assessment
The project conducted nutritional assessments for over 120 children during the reporting period. Through these assessments, several cases of malnutrition were identified and are currently being followed up. Recognizing that many children come from vulnerable families with limited access to medical care, the assessments were instrumental in identifying and addressing nutritional deficiencies. Additionally, educational sessions on nutrition were conducted for parents and guardians to ensure holistic support for the children's well-being.
Community Engagement
The Ngao Foundation celebrated Mother's Day and Women's Day during the reporting period, acknowledging the significant role of women in the community and children's lives. Participants were provided with hampers of foodstuff, recognizing and enhancing their role in the community. These events also served as platforms for educational activities aimed at empowering women.
Response to Floods
The recent floods have caused widespread devastation, resulting in the loss of livelihoods and lives for many families. In response, The Ngao Foundation has been actively reaching out to the most affected families, providing them with essential support such as food, clothing, and bedding. These efforts aim to restore affected families to their daily lives and alleviate their immediate needs.
Acknowledgment and Gratitude
The Ngao Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to all supporters and donors who have contributed to the success of the Emergency Family Relief Food and Nutritional Support Project. Your generous support has enabled us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable families and children in the community. We remain committed to ensuring that your donations are utilized effectively and efficiently to support those in need.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Emergency Family Relief Food and Nutritional Support Project continues to play a vital role in addressing the food and nutritional needs of vulnerable families, particularly children, in the community. Through food distribution, nutritional assessments, educational activities, and response to emergencies such as floods, the project remains dedicated to improving the well-being of those we serve.
