Project Report | Aug 31, 2025
The NGAO Foundation: Visibility at the Horizon

By Anthony Richard Hulula | Director/Project Leader

Introduction

Over the past four months, the NGAO Foundation has continued to expand its Emergency Family Relief and Nutrition Support Program, ensuring that children and families in our community not only receive nutritious meals but also benefit from education, mentorship, and holistic care. This report reflects the progress made between May – August 2025, highlighting the milestones achieved, the challenges faced, and the critical next steps.

Key Achievements

  1. New Location Secured: During this reporting period, the NGAO Foundation secured a new location that has become the hub of our nutrition support activities. This has allowed us to extend services to more children and families consistently.
  2. Daily Nutrition Support
    • Provided bread and milk to over 150 children daily, ensuring consistent nutritional supplementation.
    • Conducted a nutrition assessment for 100+ children, enabling us to identify cases of malnutrition and offer targeted support.
    • Delivered nutrition education sessions to 60 women, empowering caregivers with knowledge to sustain family health and prevent malnutrition.
  3. Household Support
    • Through donor support, we continuously provided nutritious porridge to 50 households, specifically targeting children flagged as malnourished during assessments.
  4. Weekend & Holiday Feeding Program
    • Continued to provide hot meals to 250+ children every Saturday and during the August school holiday.
    • These gatherings were not just about meals; children were engaged in structured activities, including:
      • Environmental initiatives (tree planting, waste management).
      • Hygiene and sanitation awareness.
      • Mentorship programs covering teenagehood, the value of education, and character development.
  5. Volunteer Engagement
    • Hosted volunteers from the USA who partnered with us in practical service, including donating and building benches now used by the children during feeding and learning sessions.

Critical Needs Going Forward

While the progress achieved is encouraging, the program faces one urgent priority: the construction of a kitchen.

  • The absence of a kitchen limits the consistency and scale of meal preparation.
  • A functional kitchen will stabilize our food provision, improve efficiency, and enhance hygiene standards in serving the children and families.

Impact Story

Because of the meals provided, children can stay in school, attend lessons without hunger, and remain actively engaged in mentorship. Families facing economic hardship find relief knowing their children have at least one reliable meal, which reduces stress and builds resilience.

Gratitude

We extend our deepest appreciation to all partners and supporters. Choosing to stand with the NGAO Foundation among many other causes cannot be gainsaid. Your contribution has turned into a lifeline for families and a source of hope for children.

Call to Action

The journey of building resilient families and healthier children is ongoing. With your continued support, we can address immediate needs while building sustainable systems for the future. The kitchen construction remains our top priority as we move into the next quarter.

Together, we see visibility at the horizon—a future where no child goes hungry, and every family has the strength to thrive.
