Project Report | Dec 29, 2025
Thank You for Trusting us with Your Funds

By Anthony Richard Hulula | Director/Project Leader

1. INTRODUCTION

The Food and Nutrition Program at The NGAO Foundation is a core, lifesaving intervention dedicated to improving the nutritional status, health, and overall wellbeing of children and vulnerable mothers within our community. At its heart, the program exists to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and no mother faces the journey of pregnancy or breastfeeding without nutritional support and dignity.

Throughout the year, the program delivered consistent child feeding, nutrition support during school holidays, targeted nutrition education and supplementation for pregnant and lactating mothers, and communitywide health awareness activities. These interventions were carefully designed to respond to immediate needs while laying the foundation for longterm health and resilience.

This report highlights the activities implemented, populations reached, frequency of interventions, and the overall impact of the Food and Nutrition Program during the reporting period. Most importantly, it reflects what your generosity has made possible.

2. FOOD AND NUTRITION PROGRAM

Vision

A community where every child has access to nutritious food and is free from hunger and malnutrition.

Mission

To alleviate hunger and improve nutritional outcomes for children and vulnerable families.

Objectives

  • Provide regular meals to children and assess their nutritional needs.
  • Educate the community on nutrition and healthy living.
  • Reduce malnutrition and promote food security.

2025 Key Activities

  • Provided food to over 300 children every Saturday throughout the year.
  • Conducted quarterly nutritional assessments for children.
  • Delivered community nutrition training sessions.
  • Facilitated daily feeding during school holidays:
    • April – 3 weeks
    • August – 3 weeks
    • December – 8 weeks
  • Conducted monthly anthropometric measurements for children and pregnant/lactating mothers.

Outcomes

  • Overall positive progression in nutritional status among children and mothers.
  • Very few to zero cases of malnutrition or underweight were recorded during the period.

These outcomes demonstrate the power of consistent care, datadriven monitoring, and compassionate service.

3. PROGRAM COMPONENTS & ACTIVITIES

3.1 Community Nutrition & Health Outreach Activities

Key Activities:

  • Menstrual hygiene sensitization.
  • Blood pressure and diabetes management education.
  • Practical health demonstrations.

Impact:

  • Improved community health awareness.
  • Increased trust, participation, and engagement with NGAO Foundation programs.

These sessions empowered families with knowledge, enabling them to make healthier choices beyond the feeding programs.

3.2 Children’s Weekly Feeding Program

  • Frequency: Every Saturday
  • Beneficiaries: 300+ children per session

Monitoring & Accountability:

  • Monthly MUAC, height, and weight measurements.
  • Continuous observation of children’s growth and health trends.

Impact:

  • Steady and visible improvement in children’s nutritional status.
  • Improved energy levels, school readiness, and overall wellbeing.

3.3 Holiday Feeding Program

  • Frequency: Three school holiday periods annually
  • Beneficiaries: Approximately 200 children per session

During school closures, when many children are most vulnerable to hunger, this program ensured continuity of nutrition, protection, and care.

3.4 Pregnant and Lactating Mothers Program

  • Frequency: Every Wednesday
  • Total Cohorts: Four (4)
  • Beneficiaries: 15 women per cohort

Impact:

  • Improved maternal nutrition knowledge and practices.
  • Consistent attendance and strong peer support among mothers.
  • Healthier pregnancies and improved early childhood nutrition outcomes.

This safe and supportive space allowed mothers to learn, share, and grow together.

4. COMMUNICATION & DOCUMENTATION

To ensure transparency and accountability, the program maintained:

  • Regular photo documentation of activities.
  • Creating social media content to keep supporters informed.
  • Internal reporting and data tracking for monitoring and evaluation.

5. CHALLENGES

While the program achieved significant impact, several challenges were encountered:

  • Inconsistent volunteer availability.
  • Limited indoor space for mothers’ sessions.
  • Rising food and essential support item costs.

These challenges highlight areas requiring strategic strengthening as the program grows.

6. RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Strengthen volunteer coordination and retention strategies.
  • Increase food and maternal support budgets to match rising costs.
  • Secure dedicated indoor spaces for maternal sessions.
  • Strengthen partnerships and deepen donor engagement for sustainability.

7. CONCLUSION

The Food and Nutrition Program has had a measurable and profoundly human impact on community health and well-being. Children are healthier, mothers are better informed and supported, and families are more resilient in the face of economic and food security challenges.

None of this would be possible without you.

Thank you for trusting The NGAO Foundation with your funds. Your generosity has translated into meals served, lives protected, dignity restored, and hope renewed. With your continued partnership, we look forward to sustaining and expanding this lifechanging work—ensuring that every child and every mother we serve has a healthier, brighter future.
