The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on lots of families, especially those who worked day by day to support themselves. Hearts of Gold works with multiple organizations who help the most vulnerable people in our community. Dozens of families from our partner organizations are struggling right now and don't have enough food to eat. That's why we are collecting donations to prepare food kits for them.
While there are other local and national initiatives collecting food for vulnerable populations, their waiting lists are extremely long. Hearts of Gold is asking for donations to meet the needs of families from our partner organizations. These organizations serve disabled children, families living in poverty, rural women, and other vulnerable populations. Without our help, these families will go hungry.
Hearts of Gold is stepping up to create food kits with rice, lentils, tuna, and other nutritious staples to help families survive the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Food kits will be delivered to our partner organizations, where families can pick them up. Our goal is to provide 200 food kits to the most vulnerable families in our network.
This project provides direct assistance to families who are in urgent need. While the pandemic persists, this is the best way to help people who are unable to work and who don't have access to other programs. Providing food to these families will also generate hope in a time of immense uncertainty. Let's imagine the hard reality these families are facing and do what we can to ease their burden.
