Over 50,000 people from TIV communities in Benue have been displaced due to violence, losing access to farmland and food. Many families go days without proper meals. This project will provide emergency food packs to 1,000 households, including rice, beans, maize flour, and oil. Donations will help buy, pack, and deliver food to families in the most affected camps and host communities.
TIV families in Benue have been forced to leave their homes due to ongoing attacks. They have lost their farmland, income, and food supplies. In overcrowded camps or host villages, they lack regular meals. Children and women face the highest risk of hunger-related sickness. Without quick food support, malnutrition and health issues will grow worse.
This project will provide ready-to-cook food packs to 1,000 displaced TIV households in Benue. Each pack contains basic staples like rice, beans, maize flour, oil, and salt. Local teams will pack and deliver the food to camps and host communities. This will reduce hunger and help families focus on safety and health while they seek longer-term support.
By reducing immediate hunger, families will have more strength to care for their children and plan next steps. Fewer cases of sickness due to hunger will lower pressure on local clinics. The project will also help partners track the needs of displaced households for future support. Regular food access may help reduce tension between host communities and IDPs.
