This project aims to address the growing crisis of hunger and malnutrition in Burundi by providing life-saving food assistance and sustainable solutions to vulnerable communities. Many families, especially in rural areas, face daily food shortages, with children and mothers most at risk of severe malnutrition. The program will deliver emergency food aid to households in crisis while implementing nutrition support programs for children under five and pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Burundi is facing a severe and ongoing food security crisis, where millions of people struggle to access enough nutritious food to survive. Widespread poverty, climate change, and limited agricultural resources have made it increasingly difficult for families to meet their basic food needs. Many rural households depend on small-scale farming, yet they lack quality seeds, tools, and modern farming knowledge
This project tackles both the immediate hunger crisis and the root causes of food insecurity through a combined approach of emergency relief and long-term development. 1. Immediate Food Assistance (Short-Term Solution) 2. Targeted Nutrition Support 3. Sustainable Farming Support (Long-Term Solution) 4. Clean Water & Hygiene 5. Women & Community Empowerment 6. Breaking the Cycle of Hunger
This project is designed not only to respond to immediate hunger but to create lasting, transformational change in vulnerable communities across Burundi. 1. Sustainable Food Security 2. Improved Child Growth & Development 3. Increased Household Income 4. Women Empowerment 5. Better Health & Reduced Disease 6. Stronger, Resilient Communities 7. Breaking the Cycle of Poverty & Hunger
