Help Fuel Relief Fund's (FRF) team of disaster responders bring emergency fuel assistance to Louisiana, where Hurricane Ida made landfall as a Category 4 storm on August 29th. Ida's 150 mph winds ravaged southern LA, making it the 5th strongest storm to hit the US on record. It left communities across the state without power and in desperate need of fuel. FRF will give free fuel to first responders, aid agencies, and affected families. 100% of funds raised will support FRF's relief efforts!
Hurricane Ida is the 5th strongest hurricane to hit the USA. More than 1,000,000 people are without power and gas stations across southern Louisiana have run out of fuel. Ida has also shut down oil production in the Gulf of Mexico causing gas prices to rise. First responders currently have to travel long distances for fuel, hindering rescue and response efforts. Generators can't be powered to provide light, charge phones, refrigerate food, or run medical equipment - putting lives at risk.
FRF has deployed a team of responders to the affected areas in Louisiana to source and deliver fuel to those in need. This primarily includes first responders, local police/fire departments, and individual people and families who depend on fuel for basic survival in the wake of a major disaster. With your donations, FRF will work to ensure that those in the hardest-hit areas have the fuel they need to make it through the storm.
Fuel is essential for immediate disaster relief to minimize loss of life and suffering. By providing free fuel for emergency personnel, the local population, and the and critical infrastructure (hospitals, water treatment plants, etc.) that supports them, we will affect the lives of tens of thousands of people in dire need of help. In this manner, we can help families and communities to survive and to rebuild.
