Following the devastating earthquakes and strong typhoons that struck the areas where CAMELEON operates in 2025, the organization immediatelyidentified urgent repairs and infrastructure improvements necessary to ensure the long-term safety, stability, and sustainability of the center. Despite the challenges and delays brought by both internal and external factors, CAMELEON remained proactive in carrying out essential repairs internally while carefully planning and coordinating major rehabilitation works. Critical priorities include the complete rewiring of the center, the construction of a secure powerhouse to protect generators, the purchase of a transformer adapted to the center’s increasing energy needs, and the acquisition of new generators to replace the old and insufficient unit currently being used.
Frequent power interruptions continue to affect the delivery of activities and essential services for the children and staff, further emphasizing the urgency of these improvements. While the recovery process has taken time, substantial progress has already been made through careful preparation, coordination, and compliance with safety standards.
In parallel, with the Philippines being regularly affected by typhoons and natural disasters, CAMELEON is committed to continuously strengthening the resilience of its centers and the capacity of its teams and beneficiaries to respond effectively in the face of future natural hazards.
Despite the difficulties encountered, CAMELEON remains deeply committed to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for its beneficiaries and personnel. The organization extends its heartfelt gratitude to all partners and donors whose generosity, solidarity, and continuous support make these recovery efforts possible. Their support allows CAMELEON not only to rebuild, but to rebuild stronger, ensuring that the beneficiaries under our care continue to receive protection, care, and opportunities for a better future.
