Across Australia - you're helping wildlife in need

By Linda Jordan | Community Fundraising Manager

As a WIRES supporter, you help us make a direct and very tangible difference for vulnerable wildlife - every single day. And you're helping us assist more than 60 additional wildlife groups and carers across Australia - through the WIRES National Grants program!

For the critically endangered spectacled flying fox above, your support through this program has been lifesaving. She was provided with an oxygen concentrator - critical to keeping her comfortable and breathing whilst receiving treatment for a rare form of pnemonia. Your support also made sure her carers at Tolga Bat Hospital provided her with a lifesaving humidicrib - which assisted with temperature regulation and the administration of oxygen whilst she recovered.

Thank you for providing this lifesaving support - both for her, and for the future of her highly vulnerable species!

Here's another way you're protecting vulnerable wildlife - can you imagine recovering from a terrible injury without expert rehabilitation? Thanks to the support of people like you, we're making sure injured raptors get the specialist care they need - so they can spread their wings and soar once more.

We've now had several rehabilitating patients in our specialist Mullyang Raptor Center, including wedge-tail eagles, sea eagles, and peregrine falcons.

They've been brought in from wildlife organisations across the region - all striving to provide the very best pre-release care for rescued birds of prey.

We also had this sweet group (below) of 12 young kestrels, who were injured when their trees were cleared. All 12 are thriving thanks to the support you've help provide.

Thank you again for helping us support Aussie wildlife!
