Emergency Response: Nepal Floods

Summary

Devastating floods have torn through communities across Nepal, and our street dog rescue network on the ground in Pokhara and beyond is stepping straight into emergency response. Families have lost homes and livelihoods, and the animals who share their streets are stranded, injured and starving. Our local teams know these communities inside out. With your help we can deliver emergency food, clean water, shelter materials and urgent veterinary care right now.

Challenge

Nepal has been hit by catastrophic flooding, and the damage is still unfolding. Roads are washed out, homes are destroyed, and entire communities that were already stretched thin are now in survival mode. Our network reaches far and on the actual ground of Nepal. We're there, our team live and grew up here. We need to help them NOW in emergency response, relief and rebuild. People have lost everything. Clean water is scarce. Food is running short and they need our help.

Solution

We are mobilising our existing community networks to respond fast, because that is what years of trust on the ground makes possible. Our teams are moving in with emergency food and clean water for affected families, alongside urgent veterinary care and feeding support for injured and stranded street dogs. We can reach flood affected areas quickly, without waiting on new infrastructure or outside teams to arrive. Every rupee goes through people the community already knows and trusts.

Long-Term Impact

Floods like this do not just wash away homes, they wash away years of steady progress. Our long term goal is to help these communities recover and rebuild, so the sterilisation and welfare work we have spent years building does not go backwards. By responding fast now, with food, water and vet care, we protect both the human and animal community networks that took years to earn trust and build. Recovery means getting families back on their feet and street dogs healthy again.
