Due to new Omicron variant, the COVID-19 situation in Ethiopia is still worrying!
The World Health Organization reports that in Ethiopia there are still 444.124 confirmed cases and 7.030 deaths.
According to the latest census the current population in Ethiopia exceeds 115 million but unfortunately the total number of vaccination doses administered so far is of 10.956.131 [data from WHQ website].
The current situation of Ethiopia makes it a dangerous place for children to grow up in. It should also be taken into considerations a possible local civil war among all the difficulties the country faces.
Sister Rosaria, our Italian referent and founder of “Maria nostra Madre” center in Gubrye, asks for your help! Thanks to you support we’ll able to support the women and the children of our center located in Gubrye.
The center provides at least 150 daily meals thanks to the opening of a bakery and a food bank. It also encourages the education and development of children, women and young people in need. Specifically, in the center the children can play and study while their mothers learn English or learn the needlework.
Additionally, the construction of the well allowed accessibility to clean water.
You can see the center activity in this video: https://youtu.be/b95ayM8RoEU
