Dear Donors,
the global emergency caused by Covid-19 is not just a health crisis; all the measures adopted in order to limit infections involve a wide range of activities and strongly influence the social and economic dynamics of a Country. The impact of the Virus is systemic and the answer to the health emergency must involve also the political, economic and social dimension. This general consideration assumes peculiar features in Ethiopia, a Country that is facing a difficult transition.
The World Health Organization reports that there have been 480.609 confirmed cases with 7.510 deaths since January 2020 till May 2022. Just 29million vaccine doses have been administered. In Ethiopia, the spread of Covid-19 has hit an already weak health system, inside a fragile social, economic and political community.
For these reasons, our presence in the Country through our local partners doesn’t stop! The safety of the children and of all the people that we support is at risk also because of frequent local conflicts, in particular in the North of the Country, worsening the current internal crisis and famine. That’s why your and our support is still so fundamental!
Thank you
