Antakia, located near the Syrian border in southeastern Turkey, is a large city, so aid and supplies are concentrated. On the other hand, Alziz, a small city on the outskirts, is struggling with the lack of support. There are also distribution stations managed by large-scale supplies or government offices in Alziz, so a considerable amount of support for clothing and blankets has arrived from home and abroad. However, daily necessities are very scarce. In addition, the temporary shelter environment is the worst for the victims to stay safe at night when the temperature drops to minus 10 degrees Celsius. APAD-Korea and Peacewinds produce and distribute "family packages" that include daily necessities and food to Allz. One of the victims in Alziz said, "We don't have a car, so we can't go to the shelter and pick up supplies. In addition, the goods distribution center is far from the village, so when I go, I always run out of supplies, so I can't receive them." APAD-Korea is always striving to provide priority support to the disaster vulnerable. Among the victims living in the suburbs of Alz, the government has started to distribute the disabled and the physically challenged and disabled.
In addition to food and hygiene products, we also provided pet food this time. In Turkey, many people have dogs and cats, and humans are not the only ones who have been affected. The victim, who said that the cat was starving at home, immediately held it in his hand and was very happy as soon as he saw the cat food.
Despite the fact that it was not a huge support, the local victims in Turkey hugged the distribution team saying thank you so much and expressed their gratitude, so we were rather touched. In addition, Turkish locals helped us personally in packaging the 'family package' for distribution and preparing the logistics. Thanks to this, packing was done quickly and distribution was started early.
Even in a disaster, we can always find hope and overcome it with that hope in our hearts. Your support and support can be a hope for them.
