On August 26, 2026, a severe flash flood destroyed multiple settlements in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts of Nepal causing a huge loss of life and property, with preliminary reports suggesting hundreds of deaths. The thousands of people displaced from their homes need immediate relief. Through this project, PHASE Nepal aims to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to flood-affected families, with particular attention to women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
Devastating floods in Nepal have created a severe crisis, destroying homes, contaminating water supplies and cutting off access to food and other essentials, leaving families without shelter, safe drinking water and basic necessities. It is particularly difficult for above groups of people who have been displaced from their homes and are currently living in temporary or unsafe conditions, therefore, immediate humanitarian support is urgently needed to help families meet their most basic needs.
Your support for PHASE Nepal's Relief and Response Fund will give us the resources to support the people who need our help the most, providing them with shelter, food, clean water, hygiene kits and other essentials. This Fund will support the most vulnerable populations in the remote and hard to reach communities affected by this flood. We will work with local governments and partners to assess immediate needs and provide emergency assistance to the most affected and vulnerable families.
Once immediate rescue and relief operation completes and communities begin to recover, PHASE Nepal will continue to assess needs and further explore opportunities to support recovery. Depending on available resources and needs of the communities, PHASE Nepal will support in restoring and accessing essential services, supporting children for schooling, rebuilding individual houses and the recovery of livelihoods for above groups of population and wider community as appropriate.
