Words cannot express how grateful we at Raising Futures Kenya are for your support for Kenyan children through the covid-19 crisis and challenging times in its wake - which have been characterised by economic uncertainty, severe drought, and hunger for children in families living hand to mouth.
After 5 years, and an incredible $38,046 raised, we are astounded to have reached more than 75% of the target we set for our ‘Emergency Covid-19 Support for Kenyan Children’ project on GlobalGiving! And now, we have assessed that it’s the right time to close this crowdfunding project. But not before sharing what your incredible support has meant!

Together, over the past 5 years, we and the young people we’ve supported have achieved incredible things. We have provided children and young people with daily lunches and essential items to be able to access training and gain skills to generate their own income. We have scaled our support in response to need, from 172 children and young people per year pre-pandemic to over 1,000 per year in 2024! 80% of whom have gone on to gain employment or start their own small businesses within 6 months of completing their training, and 62% earning above the poverty line!

Though we are closing this crowd-funding project, our Seed of Hope programme continues to grow in reach and impact, tackling youth unemployment, poverty, and gender inequality in Kenya!
