Getting the loan from the MFB through Serendipity

Dear supporters, family and friends of Serendipity,

Your generous donations have afforded us to train ten more women and given them soft grant of $30 to help them in kickstarting their processing of groundnut into finished products in Gadan, Tudun Fulani community in Ungogo Local Government council, a new local governing council as part of our target in training one hundred women in rural communities by the end of the second quarter of 2019 and providing them with processing machines.

The ten women formed themselves into a group with the approval of the local community-based organization, however they are yet to get their cooperative registered.

Through the provision of the soft grant and trainings received with your support, the women will be able to buy materials for the processing of groundnut, pay for hire fees to use the only threshing machine the community has.

In Tofa community where the project took off from, the twenty women have been able to secure loan as a group from the Tofa Microfinance Bank of $57 each repayable after six months. At our next visit to the community we will share stories of impact that the empowerment programme has changed their lives.

This model will be replicated in more communities before the year runs out to meet our target of uplifting women in rural communities in Kano, Nigeria out of poverty. Will you help us to succeed on this dream? Your donation towards provision of locally fabricated machines, training of entrepreneurial skills to these women will not only alleviate poverty but bring about development to the communities and state.
