Dear Family, Friends and Supporters of Serendipity Healthcare Foundation,

We have reached the third stage which is year three in our goal to ensure that our youths between the ages of 18 -35 are self-employed, create jobs, build up a structure for their business, access to market and access to finance, we have thus far trained over 2000 youths since last year when the program started. 65% of persons trained are young females all across the country.

The youths were trained on face to face and online facilitation for a duration of four months each cycle. The youths came from all the sectors with majority concentrating on agriculture, creatives and ICT. The structure of program was first on baseline assessment of the beneficiary, business structure of the beneficiary, Revenue model, key barriers to growth et al.

This baseline survey formed the basis of the direction the program will take and the duration. Serendipity training unit is working in close collaboration with two organizations on the MasterCard Foundation program of Transforming Nigerian Youths and we have thus far recorded a 70% success on the beneficiaries being able put a structure in their business, add value to their products and services, accessed market for such products, employed new staff and create a bankable business plan where some of them have accessed loans from development banks, commercial banks, angel investors through pitching and joining competitions such as Agro Hack, Creative Business Cup, Entrepreneurship Nigeria Cup (GEW) to mention a few.

Our women in the rural communities are also being taught on how to turn their waste to wealth and on how to use simple technology to sell their products through SMS and Social Media. We are also integrating them so that no one is left behind and proud to say especially in the Northern part of Nigeria where our women have so much barriers are gradually coming out of their homes and taking responsibility with their husband’s support.
