Our economy is in dire straits in Nigeria as the rate of poverty has increased form 70% to now 80%, yes the future for businesses looks bleak but we at Serendipity are confident that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It is on this premise that we have collaborated with Enterprise Development Center (an educational institute based in Lagos) to take capacity building to women between the ages of 18 – 35 in rural communities all over Northern Nigeria called Community Learning Series (This included Business resilience plan, Taxation, Financial Management and Digital Strategy for the local arena).
The program was a 3 days for 6 Cohorts and a growth plan was written by each participant at the 3rd day. The program spanned over three months with over 2000 participants across 7 states in Northern Nigeria, Kano State where we are based Inclusive. This Coommunity Learning series was done to reach grassroots women who have basic knowledge with no access to the Internet so no one is left behind.
The objectives of the program are as follows

- To facilitate access to markets and low-cost financing options.
- To assist participants in creating individual growth plans.
The methodology we used to help our women are
- Interactive face-to-face training sessions over three days.
- Expert-led workshops on various aspects of business development.
- Development of growth plans by participants to conclude the program.
The program details are as follows
