Empowering Women's Economic Resilience in DRC
Introduction
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Every meaningful change begins with hope. In eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, thousands of women continue to live with the consequences of conflict, displacement, poverty, and economic exclusion. For many, rebuilding a life means starting from nothing.
Thanks to the generosity of compassionate donors around the world, this project has taken its first important steps toward helping 2,000 vulnerable women regain economic independence through vocational training, entrepreneurship, and small business support.
Although we are still at the beginning of this journey, your support has already sent a powerful message to these women: they are not forgotten.
Humanitarian Context
Eastern DRC remains one of the world's most complex humanitarian crises.
Years of armed conflict have forced thousands of families to flee their homes. Women have been among the hardest hit, facing displacement, unemployment, gender inequality, and limited access to education, financial services, and sustainable livelihoods.
According to UN Women, more than 10,000 women in the region continue to experience severe economic vulnerability.
Many women who escaped violence now struggle daily to provide food, education, and healthcare for their children.
Our project focuses on 2,000 refugee and vulnerable women living in Bukavu, Kabare, and Idjwi, where opportunities for income generation remain extremely limited.
Our Goal
Our objective is simple but transformative:
To equip 2,000 women with practical vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, and access to small start-up grants so they can build sustainable businesses, increase household income, and regain control over their futures.
By investing in women, we are investing in stronger families and more resilient communities.
Progress to Date
Although project implementation officially begins in November 2025, important preparatory work is already underway.
During this reporting period, our team has focused on establishing the foundation necessary for successful implementation.

Financial Update
The total project budget is US$80,000.
To date, the project has received its first donation of US$50 through the incredible generosity of donors on GlobalGiving.
While this amount represents only the beginning of our fundraising journey, it symbolizes something much greater:

Looking Ahead
Over the coming months, INUKA RELIEF will continue finalizing beneficiary selection, confirming vocational trainers, and completing all operational preparations.
The official implementation phase is scheduled to begin in November 2025.
As additional resources become available, vocational training sessions, entrepreneurship coaching, financial literacy workshops, and business start-up support will gradually be rolled out across the target communities.
