By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader
Across rural Uganda, women work tirelessly to provide for their families, yet many remain trapped in poverty because they lack access to vocational training, financial services, productive resources, and sustainable employment. Single mothers and caregivers of orphaned children face even greater challenges as climate-related crop failures and unemployment reduce household incomes. This project will empower vulnerable women with entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, savings group participation, business mentorship, and start-up livelihood resources to establish sustainable income-generating activities. As women earn reliable incomes, families will improve their nutrition, healthcare, children's education, and financial security. Investing in women creates a ripple effect that reduces poverty, strengthens local economies, promotes self-reliance, and builds resilient communities where future generations can flourish.
