An Empowered International Women's Day!

By Rahina Opotu | Grants & Partnerships Officer

Through the Women MicroCredit Programme which started in 2021, ACE Charity has empowered over 151 rural women entrepreneurs with interest-free small-scale loans and financial literacy and business management skills training.

For the 2024 International Women’s Day, we decided to empower fifteen (15) more women in Kadokuchi community with the gift of learning liquid soap making and start-up materials to begin their entrepreneurial journey. Our training instructor taught them about the chemicals they would require in making the soap, the process of mixing it, and the quantity they can expect from it. She also instructed them on how to calculate the cost price of the production materials against the profit they intended to make. She encouraged them to start by offering their products to other small businesses as well as directly selling their products to customers.

At the end of the training, each beneficiary kept the batch of soap they had made and got additional materials for their next batch, adequately providing them with start-up products for a micro business. The women expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be empowered, hence giving them a means of supporting themselves and their families. You can watch this video to catch a glimpse of how the day went.

Creating more opportunities for women like these to be empowered is the reason we do what we do, and we know that with our unwavering dedication and your continued support, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of underserved rural women.

Kindly keep supporting our work by donating and sharing why you choose to support us with your community of family and friends.
