Empower 40 Orphans with Computer Skills Training

As we welcome the New Year, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support, which has enabled us to provide computer skills and life skills training to 35 abandoned and orphaned children.

Your contributions are transforming young lives by equipping these children with essential computer knowledge, technological skills, and confidence—tools that are critical for success in today’s digital world.

These 50 vulnerable children were identified by our dedicated volunteers and staff from rural and urban areas across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Since 2012, SERUDS has been running this orphanage, providing a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for children who have lost parental support. They are currently pursuing their education at Indira Gandhi Memorial Municipal High School, A. Camp, Kurnool, and continue to show great determination and resilience.

To strengthen their future opportunities, SERUDS has appointed a qualified Computer Instructor and a Communication Trainer to deliver structured training in computer applications, technology, and life development skills. The curriculum includes:

• Microsoft Office tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Desktop publishing basics

• Personality development

• Spoken English and communication skills

Through this training, the children are learning to create presentations, draft letters, analyze data, and communicate confidently. Their enthusiasm for learning and their ability to apply these skills in school activities is truly inspiring and reflects their steady progress.

Thanks to your unwavering support through the esteemed GlobalGiving platform, these children are gaining not only technical knowledge but also self-belief and hope for a brighter future. This initiative is opening doors to higher education and better career opportunities that were once beyond their reach.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to you for your generous contribution through the GlobalGiving Foundation, which is helping us provide valuable computer skill training to the children living in our orphanage. Your support is playing a crucial role in shaping their future and preparing them for a competitive world.

SERUDS started the Children Home in 2012 with just five abandoned children. Over the years, with the kindness of donors like you, the home has grown into a safe haven for 45 orphaned and vulnerable children, aged between 7 and 17 years. All the children are enrolled in reputed convent schools, government high schools, and colleges, depending on their academic level.

Alongside regular education, we believe it is essential for the children to gain practical skills that will help them build strong careers. With this vision, we are providing comprehensive computer training that includes MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Internet basics, email usage, spoken English, digital painting, personality development, and DTP theory and practice. These courses help the children stay confident, updated, and future-ready in a world where digital literacy is becoming increasingly important.

In addition to classroom learning, we also conduct awareness sessions on livelihood opportunities, career development, and micro-enterprise skills. The children show remarkable enthusiasm and curiosity in learning these new skills. They actively participate in both indoor and outdoor games such as cricket, chess, volleyball, basketball, and yoga, contributing to their overall physical and mental well-being.

Today, the children enjoy nutritious food, quality education, structured study hours, recreational activities, and timely healthcare at the SERUDS Children Home. Their growth, happiness, and confidence are a direct reflection of your kindness.
