Respected Friends of SERUDS Charity,
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous sponsorship, which has enabled us to provide vocational skills training in computers for the orphan and street children at our home, through the USA tax-deductible charity GlobalGiving.
Our orphanage, which started nine years ago with just five children, is now home to 60 orphaned and street children in Kurnool. These children, aged between 7 and 17 years, are enrolled in various schools, including convent schools, government high schools, and even intermediate and degree colleges. In addition to their academic education, we are committed to equipping them with practical skills for their future, which is why we have introduced computer training as part of their curriculum. The training includes MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, spoken English, basic internet skills, email communication, Paint, personality development, and desktop publishing (DTP).
The vocational training is tailored to the age and skill level of each child, ensuring they receive both academic education and market-driven skills. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we made sure to provide essential protective items like masks, sanitizers, and gloves for all the children in our care, and we worked hard to overcome the many challenges posed by the pandemic.
We also ensure that the children have ample opportunities for physical activity and recreation. We have dedicated spaces for indoor and outdoor games such as cricket, chess, volleyball, basketball, and yoga classes for both boys and girls. These activities are vital in promoting their physical well-being and personal growth.
The children are thriving in the orphanage, where they receive nutritious food, excellent education, ample study time, recreational opportunities, and health care. The skill development programs, in conjunction with their academic studies, are proving to be very successful, helping to prepare them for a brighter future.
