On July 24th through 26th, around one hundred youth and adults were trained to carry out the campaign “A deal for ideal interactions” in their own local areas in the coming months. The training event was held at La Tuna (Canelones, Uruguay).
The objective of the campaign “A deal for ideal interactions” is to promote protagonistic participation of adolescents and youth in their own communities, through training in topics linked to: prevention of maltreatment, artistic interventions, responsible tourism, interactions with tourists, and prevention of other forms of violence towards children and adolescents.
Through interventions in their communities, youth and adolescents will be heralds of the message in 14 departments of Uruguay: Artigas, Salto, Paysandú, Río Negro, Soriano, Colonia, Montevideo, Canelones, Maldonado, Rocha, San José, Florida, Durazno and Rivera.
When considering which participants should be invited to the training, efforts have been made to identify youth and adolescents with a clear picture of group processes and deep sense of commitment to replicate the experience in their own environments.
Specialists from the Claves team, as well as youth who have already participated in previous campaigns, participated in the camp along with the new volunteers, who are now considered to have sufficient formation to facilitate their own training dynamics.
