This project will empower adolescent girls and young women and reduce their risk, by strengthen the families of AGYW, mobilize communities for change and, reduce the risk of men who are likely to be male sex partners of AGYW.
In sub-Saharan Africa, adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) are 5 to 14 times more likely to be infected with HIV than their male peers. Every day, more than 750 AGYW are infected with HIV. Many factors make girls and young women particularly vulnerable to HIV, including gender-based violence, exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school.
The organization will empower adolescent girls and young women and reduce their risk, strengthen their families, mobilize communities for change and, reduce the risk of men who are likely to be male sex partners of AGYW.
Most Adolescent Girls Reduced their Risk, Their families strengthened economically, and, improved their ability to positively and effectively parent. Most Communities mobilized for Change and educated including boys and young men to keep girls HIV free and safe from violence.
