A Journey Toward Womanhood: Many Options for Global Girls

By Angela D Coleman | Founder and President

Sisterhood Agenda’s goal is to make sure all teenage girls have access to A Journey Toward Womanhood and the important information that the curriculum contains.  We are pleased to announce several ways for our global girls to participate and create safe spaces.

In addition to the localized program implementation offered by Sisterhood Agenda global partners, over 6,000 in 37 countries, Sisterhood Agenda is implementing the program directly to the public via online course format and in two physical locations for in-person teaching and mentoring:  Baltimore County and the Virgin Islands.

An information session is held in March 2022 and sign-up is available on our website.  We are also coordinating program recruitment, including parent information sessions and distributing flyers in local schools.

As always, we remain flexible and adaptable to changes due to the pandemic. For example, we have changed our program format to increase safety for our team members and program participants by hosting the program as an insulated, overnight summer experience with COVID-19 testing instead of holding shorter, weekly sessions over the course of several months which would allow the participants to consistently leave and return to the group, thus increasing the risk of virus exposure.

While we plan this activity in these new formats, of course, we also remain flexible to the needs of our participants and their families.  It is an evolving process for different times.  And you know what?  It makes us all better.

Why do we do this?  It’s for our girls!  It’s about community.  It’s about connection.  We do our best with what we have in the circumstances where we find ourselves.  The glass is always half-full and our commitment to quality and service has been steady, motivating us to rise.

Thank you for your continued support with our global girls programming!

In the Spirit of Sisterhood,

Angela D. Coleman, MBA, CNM
Founder and President
