Thank you for supporting Safer Motherhood

Dear Friends,
We’re so grateful for your continued support of our maternal health project. Thanks to you, mothers and babies in our community are getting the care they need and deserve. Here’s a quick look at what’s been happening at the clinic.
In December, we cared for 65 mothers from villages including Shavihiga, Shitirira, Shikomari, Shiseno, and many others. These women, aged 18 to 45, made regular visits to the clinic throughout their pregnancies of, coming 4 to 7 times, as recommended by health guidelines. Your support is helping make that possible.
We’re thrilled to share that most babies were born at a healthy weight between 2.6kg and 3.6kg. Some deliveries still occurred at home, but more than half took place at the clinic, a significant safety benefit. We're working hard to encourage even more mothers to deliver with skills.
Thanks to your generosity:
  • Over 90% of babies received their first immunisations on time.
  • Most mothers reported learning helpful childcare tips during their visits.
  • Some fathers even joined and learned alongside them, something we hope to see more of.
While we celebrate these wins, we also see where more love and care is needed:
  • Some mothers still face risks like high blood pressure or malaria; we want to follow up with them closely.
  • About 40% of deliveries still happen at home. We’re committed to changing that.
  • We’re planning community talks to get more fathers involved in their babies’ early days.

From All of Us, Thank You.
Every healthy birth, every smiling mother, every safe baby reflects your kindness. You’re part of this story, and we couldn’t do it without you.
With heartfelt thanks,
Omega Global Development
