Many Bahamian children are unaware of the majestic whales living in their waters, despite the growing threats to whale populations from human activities. Raising awareness about these species and the dangers they face is essential for supporting their conservation.
August brought the return of our much-loved Whale Camp for young Bahamians! Week one delivered perfect weather and unforgettable encounters with sperm whales, bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins, and Blainville’s beaked whales. Week two was just as spectacular, with more dolphins, beaked whales, and sperm whales. Whale Camp 2025 was made possible thanks to the generous support of the GlobalGiving, GEF Small Grant Project, The Rotary Club of Abaco, Dolphin Encounters at Blue Lagoon Island, Mark Stephens, and Soul Fly Lodge.
