Photography is a method of self-exploration. It can be used to express what photographer's inner thoughts are. In Kyrgyzstan, 37% of families live below the poverty line. Because of disadvantages of families, most of children do not have any motivation and opportunities. It will inevitably limit children's development. Therefore, TFCF wants to assist children through photography project. Children will have opportunities to empower themselves and be able to choose the better lives in the future.
Kyrgyzstan is a developing country with plenty of natural resources, but its most difficult situation is lack of opportunity of employment. Therefore, most of parents just focus on subsisting. They have no time to concern or teach their children. Thus, most of children are lack of confidence and afraid to express their opinions. Thus, they need more motivations and opportunities to empower themselves.
Photography is a medium that TFCF uses to work with children. Photos can represent the inner thoughts of children. When children feel something new, they will be more interested. That's why TFCF is going to help children through the method of "Therapeutic Photography" in order to build children's self-confidence and abilities. TFCF plans to invite 30 children to participate in this project. TFCF will not only provide courses of photography, but also focus on building the capacity of children.
1. Children can enhance self-confidence; 2. Children will have positive experiences and abilities; 3. Children will become creative and empathic; 4. Children can share their experiences through their photos.
