In our country, March 30 is recognized as National Domestic Workers Day. Law 31047 tells us that this date is a day of paid rest for all of them. In this context, on March 24, the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion held “The Fair for the Promotion of the Rights of Domestic Workers.” AGTR was invited to participate in the event and we were given a stand.
The fair was held at the facilities of the Ministry of Labor and was attended by domestic workers who came from different districts of our capital to receive information about their rights. We were able to contact new domestic workers. The domestic workers who are our beneficiaries were also there, we met colleagues that we had not seen since the pandemic.
The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion and the Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations were present.
AGTR provided information to domestic workers about their rights and also about how to get a job through the employment agency La Casa de Panchita SAC. Likewise, we talked with some about the importance of job training and their specialization in household work.
Recognizing March 30 as National Domestic Workers Day is important but we still need to recognize these women as one of the engines of our country's economy, to recognize their rights and to treat them with equality and without discrimination.
Thank you for supporting us. We will continue to inform and train more domestic workers.
¡AGTR will participate in the Little by Little campaign of GlobalGiving, please mark in your calendars from the 8th to 12th of april. THANK YOU.
