Our achievements in 2016

By Blanca Figueroa | Project Leader

Dear Supporters,

Thanks to your donations we were able to keep this project up and running and we are confident we will continue to do so, together! Your continued support allowed AGTR-La Casa de Panchita to keep providing core services to girls in child domestic labor and adult domestic workers. This particular project is a key element of a broader set of initiatives we implement in Lima (Peru). We wish to share with you our main achievements in 2016. In particular, you helped us provide:

  • Direct service to 1,753 children and adolescents in child domestic work (CDW) between the ages of 6 and 17 from Lima, Callao and Cajamarca, who were informed and oriented about the risks of CDW, received psychosocial support, educational materials on their rights, access to recreational and cultural activities and nutritious and healthy food.
  • Direct service to 1,023 domestic workers, aged between 18 and 65, from Lima, who received guidance and information on their labor rights, labor training, workshops for the development of personal skills, emotional counselling and expressive arts therapy. Of these, 212 obtained employment in domestic service with a written contract in accordance with the law and remunerations generally higher than the minimum wage.

Thank you for believing in this great cause!

Sincerely,

Blanca Figueroa
