Turning Seven and Planning Ahead

By Ana Laura Araya | Fundraising Director

Hola amigas y amigos!

Today is January 27, 2025. We oficially turned seven a couple of days ago. Time has flown. Overall, it has been a wonderful journey.

We are a couple of weeks away from starting our program for this year! Can you believe that more than 10 girls will be starting their 8th year in Soy Niña? (We turned seven, meaning this will be our 8th year operating). Others will be completing their 4th or 5th year with us. What an honor to be a continuous program.

Last week, the whole team met for three half days specifically to plan out our year. During the first day we went over our mission and vision. During the second and third day we discussed several topics such as:

-How should we better incorporate (again) our Family Workshops programs?

-How do we keep our retention rate as high as possible?

-What qualities should the perfect volunteer have? Could we envision them becoming facilitators one day?

-How do we open a new club in Pavas? (Yes, we are finally going to make it happen! We are going to open a Club Niña in a new community!)

-How can we work towards girls being even greater agents of change in their community?

The days and time together also allowed for great team bonding. We also appreciate the leadership of our new Executive Director, Stefany Araya. And we enjoyed the session on Wednesday by Chris Gomez, a psychologist specializing in team building and brand creation activities!

Thank you, friends, for supporting Soy Niña. We can´t wait to reunite with the girls in a couple of weeks when our program starts for the year!
