Empower 120 preschool-age children from Dhaka's slums by providing them access to quality early childhood development care. Your generous support ensures psychosocial, cognitive, and motor skill development, nutrition and growth, and school readiness for 3 to 5-year-old children by establishing free-of-cost play-based preschools in the community. Together, we also ensure parental awareness and involvement in children's lives and create an encouraging environment for them at schools and homes.
In Bangladesh, formal education starts at age 6, with an increasing focus on early childhood development. However, establishing preschools across the country is still work in progress, especially in slum areas. In our project area, the average family income is under $150, and 86% of kids lack access to early childhood development care. Parents work full-time, leaving children unsupervised. Parental awareness of child development is limited, and poverty often delays preschool enrollment.
We establish preschools right within communities, focusing on creating an encouraging environment for 3 to 5-year-old children from urban slums. Our programming includes - 120 children in 6 batches in preschool. Play-based activities for psychosocial, cognitive, and motor skills development. Basic skills for primary school enrollment. Growth monitoring for better development outcomes. Counseling for 240 parents on child development. Partnership with primary schools for timely enrollment.
We enhance psychosocial, cognitive, and motor skills, and school readiness in 120 children. Parents and communities are also engaged for better child development and a smooth transition to formal schools.
