Dear Valuable Supporter,
Thank you to all of our donors who helped us raise $7,918. US dollars to support our teachers. Your generosity is what makes our work possible and our fundraising efforts together are critical to keep the school operating. Please join me in making an additional donation so that we can close the remaining gap of $2,083 toward our goal this school year.”
At the end of last week, we had a breakout of Chickenpox in one of our daycare rooms. 5 of our 10 children in that class are required to stay home until they are free of symptoms. This will take about 7-15 days according to our school administrator, Patricia Palacios. Staying home is mandatory for anyone with chickenpox.
As you may recall, our parents have been happy to contribute to the cost of a teacher's salary monthly. They contribute a small amount, but it adds up to help cover expenses. While our chickenpox episode continues, we contained it as quickly as possible, we are concerned it may have spread to other children.
We empathize with our parents. They deeply appreciate the services they receive at Centro Infantil de los Angeles, but some are incurring extra childcare charges or losing pay while taking time off work to stay home with their child. Those of us who are parents can relate to this dilemma.
Won't you help us raise $2,000 by March 20th so we can continue to pay our teachers without asking parents to contribute more during this challenging time.
Our teachers are our greatest asset. They do so much more than teach. They provide loving attention, model exceptional behavior and instill long lasting values of sharing, caring, patience and a love of learning.
Please consider making a $500 USD donation to sponsor one daycare class for 2 weeks.
A $600 donation will sponsor a child for one year.
Sincerely,
Tammy Kjos
