Across vulnerable communities in Nigeria, brilliant girls are full of ideas, curiosity, and potential, but too many are denied access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education. This project will empower underserved girls with hands-on STEAM skills, digital tools, mentorship, and confidence to dream bigger and lead change. By investing in girls today, we are building a smarter, more inclusive future for entire communities.
Girls in underserved and conflict-affected communities face multiple barriers to education, including poverty, insecurity, early marriage, cultural expectations, and lack of learning resources. These challenges disproportionately push girls out of science and technology pathways. Without access to quality STEAM education and female role models, many girls are excluded from opportunities that could transform their lives and break cycles of poverty.
This project will create safe, supportive STEAM learning spaces designed specifically for girls. Through hands-on science experiments, coding and digital skills training, creative arts integration, and engineering challenges, girls will learn by doing. Female mentors and facilitators will guide participants, helping them build confidence, leadership, and problem-solving skills while challenging gender stereotypes in STEAM fields.
Empowered girls become innovators, educators, and economic contributors. This project will increase girls' participation and performance in STEAM subjects, strengthen their self-confidence, and open pathways to future education and careers. Over time, these girls will become role models in their communities, inspiring other girls to pursue education and shaping a more equitable and prosperous Nigeria.
