Young women in Nigeria's most vulnerable communities are being left behind in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This project equips girls with practical STEM skills, safe learning spaces, and mentorship to build confidence, creativity, and pathways to education and employment. By investing in young women, we strengthen families, communities, and Nigeria's future workforce.
Poverty, gender norms, limited school resources, and insecurity prevent many girls in vulnerable Nigerian communities from accessing STEM education. Without early exposure to science and technology, girls face reduced opportunities, higher unemployment, and lifelong economic dependence, widening gender inequality and limiting national development.
We will deliver hands-on STEM training through community learning hubs and mobile classrooms. Girls will learn basic computing, digital literacy, applied mathematics, problem-solving, and introductory coding, guided by trained female mentors. Parental and community engagement will ensure safe, supportive, and culturally appropriate participation.
Our long-term goal is to raise confident girls with STEM skills who can pursue education, employment, and entrepreneurship. Graduates will mentor peers, contribute to household income, and challenge harmful norms. Over time, this project will increase girls' representation in STEM and promote sustainable development in Nigeria.
