Thanks to your support, our project in Mozambique is moving full steam ahead!
Through funding from the Australian Government’s ANCP program, we’re supporting women and community members in Bobole to build sustainable livelihoods through small-scale poultry farming. So far, 125 participants have joined hands-on training in poultry husbandry and learning everything from housing and feeding to flock health and business planning.
Earlier this month, the first group of 12 trainees proudly graduated. Each received a starter flock of 20 chickens and feed to help launch their new enterprises. The energy in the group was incredible, when they collected their birds, several immediately asked if they could buy another 20! That kind of motivation speaks volumes about their commitment to growing their flocks and their futures.
Over the coming months, these farmers will put their training into practice, caring for their birds, tracking egg production, and using income from sales to support their families. Our team will continue providing follow-up visits and mentoring to make sure their new enterprises thrive.
This project is already making a tangible difference, putting income into the hands of mothers, ensuring a reliable source of protein for their children, and strengthening women’s confidence and decision-making at home and in their communities.
