Peru Champs: "Obstacles strengthen my resolve."

At Peru Champs, we seek that children who doesn´t have access to quality education develop their potential through our school scholarships, accessing leadership programs that make it possible for them to fulfill their dreams and goals, managing to generate an impact on their community.

Angel is one of these talented Champs, who learned to make each challenge an opportunity to continue growing. Currently, he is part of an innovative initiative to reduce the educational gap in the country called “Sumaq Yachay”, which promotes the education of young people without distinction of social class and economic status in an innovative and creative way.

His journey with us begins when, after finishing elementary school, a friend tells him about our educational scholarship. Ángel likes to embark on new challenges that contribute to his personal growth, so he does not hesitate to apply for the scholarship with the support of his parents.

Throughout his education, he faced many challenges: the teaching methodologies at Innova Schools were different and he didn´t have a good knowledge of the English language. However, thanks to the accompaniment of Peru Champs, through the Leadership Training Program, he was able to level out and better adapt to teaching at the new school.

Also, with the help of the High Potential program, he was able to perfect his English, which opened the possibility of applying to international opportunities that are held in this language. This is how he managed to enter the Cometa Scholarship, being one of the 100 admitted among the 2,275 applicants to study at a university abroad.

At Peru Champs we seek to train the next agents of change that Peru needs. Like Angel, there are many boys and girls with great projects and dreams that can change the world. Transform lives by donating today.

Your donation empower girls in Peru

At Peru Champs we seek to turn talented girls from low-income backgrounds into the future agents of change that our country needs.

Nataly, Elizabeth and Alejandra are three girls who share a very important characteristic, besides the fact that they are Champs. Each one of them is a champion who owns a great talent with which seeks to inspire more girls and teenagers to fulfill their dreams and achieve their goals.

The first of them, Nataly, is an academically talented Champ who is part of the High Potential program, a training space for Champs with high academic performance and leadership projection. Her next goal is to study at a prestigious university abroad in order to become a great surgeon to take care of people's health and well-being.

Thanks to the leadership training she received, Nataly is very confident about her abilities and the importance of effort to achieve everything she sets her mind to. Her victories in the Champ MUN debates are examples of this, she always managed to show an outstanding performance proposing solutions to different social problems. Today, at the age of 14, she is convinced of her service vocation and her desire to contribute to the development of medicine and science in our country.

Elizabeth has another success story. She is a young karateka who belongs to our sports talent group. From a very young age she has shown admirable discipline in order to reach her maximum performance both in her studies and in her combats.

At 16 years old, she has won several regional and national championships. Her next goals are to represent our country in international tournaments and win a place on the podium for Peru. On a more personal level, Elizabeth dreams to becoming a great architect to design more sustainable cities. She also thanks the leadership training she receives at Peru Champs for the confidence she has in herself to achieve her goals and inspire many more girls to break any kind of stereotype.

One more case is the one about Alejandra. She is a 10 yers-old artist Champ, with an exceptional talent for music, highlighting her voice and ability to play the violin. Last year she was selected to be part of the prestigious national orchestra “Sinfonía por el Perú” and for the last two years she has been part of the Association of authors, composers and interpreters of Huanuco, where she is in charge of promoting and spreading the music of her region.

Like the other two Champs, Alejandra has a big dream. In a few years she wants to become a great violinist and professional woman in order to send a message of empowerment to peruvian girls through music.

In Peru Champs, we are committed to turn our Champs into the future leaders of a sustainable Peru, who lead and inspire more people to generate a real change in our society.

Sergio: A Champ with big educational vocation

Sergio is a 16-year-old Champ from Santa Anita, Lima. He lives with his two sisters and his mother. Recently, he received surprising news about being accepted at three great universities: Haverford College, Duke University and Dartmouth College, the university of his dreams, where he received a scholarship to study Education Policy.

Sergio's vocational link with education has accompanied him for several years. Actually, he developed the project “Time to Learn” during his school years, a space where students can learn about topics that are not taught in schools but are essential for their future, such as financial education, digital tools, first aids, etc. Although the project will be paused for a while due to the process that Sergio must follow to start his classes, he has already planned new actions to take it to a more professional level. Sergio hopes to use the resources he will get from university to upgrade his project as much as possible.

His goal is to create a high-quality educational system that would make Peruvians proud, in which children and teenagers could be able to develop all their capacities and take advantage of all their talents. For Sergio, betting on Peruvian talent is the best way to generate a positive impact in our country, generating committed citizens willing to change the world.

Perú Champs marked a great stage in Sergio’s life. Therefore, he promises to keep its purpose alive and extend its legacy. What he values the most is the way that the organization helps closing socioeconomic gaps by facilitating access to quality education and, also, making it possible for students to dream bigger and further, giving them all the resources needed to achieve their goals.
